Young people (YOU) have told us you want: 

• access to safe, youth-friendly accessible spaces (both in real life and online) to connect, create and learn
• ways to meet other creatives and mentors 
• pathways into the creative industries
• local access to more inclusive programming, equipment, workshops and showcasing opportunities 

🌟 Creative Uprising is in response to your requests!

Would you like to gain experience as a youth advisor, collaborator, programmer and producer for new creative activations in the southwest? By filling in this form you can be part of one or more of the following stages:

Stage 1: Listen & Learn  - 
3 young creatives and staff from each Council area will visit arts organisations across the southwest in November 2026 to provide feedback and make recommendations to help improve these organisations from your perspective. 

 

Stage 2: Co-Design & Plan - 

If you are invited to participate in Stages 2 and 3, you will meet in-person to co-design youth-led activations in early 2027 then touch base regularly to bring your ideas to life, supported by fellow creatives, Regional Arts Victoria, Council staff and partners. 

Stage 3: Deliver - 

Participants will work together to deliver youth-led creative activations in southwest Victoria in the first half of 2027 (and online if you want - young people decide what this looks like!)

This EOI is for Stage 1 – participants may be invited to participate in Stages 2 and 3 after Stage 1.

Who: 12 young people aged 16-25 with a keen interest in arts and culture and a desire to positively influence local creative opportunities for young people. 

What: Your group of 3 young people and staff from your local Council and RAV will arrange a visit to local arts organisations or to meet with committee members near you, in Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne or Warrnambool. You'll get to meet local volunteers and learn about their creative activities. Then, as part of the regional network online, provide feedback on how youth-friendly they are, making recommendations to help them welcome and empower young people. 

Your commitment:

• 1 online regional meeting - introductory session to welcome and brief participants (Wednesday afternoon or early evening). 
• 1 in-person local session  - small group visit/meeting with an arts organisation/committee in your Council area (travel assistance in terms of lifts or funding can be provided
  
• 1 in-person regional meet-up - a post-visit feedback and networking session
• This accounts for approximately 6 hours of your time in November 2026.

Why: build your networks, skills and confidence, strengthen connections with arts organisations and peers, learn more about the sector and influence positive change.

Payment: A $200 honorarium will be paid to Stage 1 participants to thank you for being involved.

• WRITTEN FORM - just fill out the text boxes on page 2, or print, complete and send back to us via sw@rav.net.au or via your local Council's youth team.
• VIDEO - film yourself answering the questions (no fancy editing required) and upload on page 2
• AUDIO - record a voice note (as a WAV or MP3 file) and upload on page 2
• INTERVIEW - Organise a time for a phone interview with one of our project team by requesting an interview on page 2. 

However you answer, the Creative Uprising Project Group (inc. RAV Staff, Council staff and partners) will assess responses equally and fairly.
